Biography
DANIEL GIORLANDO is an Electromechanical Engineer graduated from the University of Buenos Aires, having electronic and electrical specialties.
He completed a 2-year postgraduate in Project Management in Chicago, after successfully leading a project of 8,500,000 dollars. Also received postgraduate education in renewable energy, placing focus in energy efficiency, energy saving and smart grids & buildings; with research and own developments in LED lighting, stand-by consumption, or the low ROI design of a split solar water heater.
Daniel began his career in the electrical industry working at SEGBA (#1 electricity distribution company in Buenos Aires), in charge of the electrical design of low/medium voltage grids and power substations.
His experience includes infrastructure, conventional and renewable energy: generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity; as well as distributed PV/thermal solar systems.
Possess an extensive local and international career developed within multinational corporations such as IBM, or projects for Dutco Tennant regarding the 4 energy & water plants in the UAE or the installation of Harris-Stratex equipment for Orange, a French-Dutch company in Dominican Rep. (6 months assignment). Installed devices are like the ones used by Transmission firms to communicate power stations via SCADA.
He has a solid background as senior auditor: Electrical Safety in public places, inspections of high voltage power lines, power stations and transformers.
Daniel currently works for the National Electricity Regulatory Agency. ENRE regulates, licenses, and supervises hydroelectrical generation, high voltage transmission nationwide; and low/medium voltage distribution in Buenos Aires City and Greater Buenos Aires.
There, he reviews and audits on-site the investments in high voltage transport networks (SADI) throughout the country.
